Tunning SA without Knock sensor
My lower VE table is looking good upper still a bit rich now( used Traxion's method) I would like to start tuning SA, however I do not have a knock sensor wired into my 1227727 ECM TPI motor. The bin I started with was for the aluminum head corvette motor with the real agressive SA table ( can't recall bin) and even though it ran, it was pig rich. Before I tuned the VE I used TC and reduced the entire SA table by three clicks on the decrement function. I know it was arbitrary, but I couldn't believe this heavy brick of a truck could handle that much advance.
I'm running a 383 gen1 SBC motor with First Fuel TPI intake system 9.1 comp.,
LPE hyd.roller cam 213/219 .462/.471 pre smog 4 barrel heads with hardened seats, cast iron 2.5inch corvette exhaust manifolds dual 2.5 into single 3 exhaust. This is in a 5500lb offroad truck ie heavy duty winch /bumper full cage, etc. Not the typical application on this board, but I have grown to rely on the wealth of knowledge here. Thanks again
