Bin Comparation Question

Hi all,

I've been reading a lot, and everything was going fine, until...... I found 2 version of the same chip ASDW & ASDW$42, I hve seen both files and there are some minor differences between them, the first and most visible is the hwmode, it is present on the $42 file.

I'd really like to use this bin, this is the firt time I program one, here is my Q....

will I damage my standard 2732 chip if i burn this into it? also I will be using the '7747 ECU, is this ok too?

BTW, The only mod, I'll be doing is disableing the EGR valve, which I have done by now. but no I have the doubt, now that I found this "other" bin around.

PS, my original bin is a ADTY (havent found where this comes from, but ASDW, will be fine 5.7 manual transmission.

Thnks
Raul

Re: Bin Comparation Question

ASDW is a $42 '7747 BIN. So no harm burning it in the 2732 chip and using it in the '7747 ECM. Although no guarantees that the burn will be successful or that an erase/reburn cycle will also be successful. Many folks give up on those chips.

One thing to do on any of these BINs is to check the very last byte. Make sure that it is $96 (hex) and not 0. If it is 0 then patch in the value $96. Long story but be sure to check this.

RBob.

Re: Bin Comparation Question

Thnks Rbob,

I forgot to mention, I'll be using a new 27c32 chip for this process, i will leave my original chip intact. I have checked that indeed the last byte IS $96

Thnks Again
