I've been driving this car and it begins to get hot with a/c on, city driving. On the highway, it stays cool. I'm going to give the car a flush, replace the single fan and wanted to replace the thermostat with a 160. Was looking at the $61 and couldn't find where to kick the fans on earlier. Am I using the wrong bin?

 

The '8746 $61 mask doesn't control the fan.

There is a switch in the passenger head between 6 & 8. Along with the A/C pressure switch. Can replace the head switch with one from an '87 Buick GN. It turns on at a lower temperature.

Couple of things to check: make sure that the air dam is intact. Remove upper radiator mount and check area between A/C condenser and radiator. That area usually fills with road debris which cuts off the flow of air.

Holy hot air batman! I didn't know that. Will take off radiator mount, its a bit hot outside right now. Will replace switch too.

Those fan switches are really easy to snap off at the bolt face if you're not careful
