When does AE occur in 6E?

I'm looking into modifiying the event that invokes AE. I'm able to manipulate the talbles for more or less, and the duration for AE, but not when it happens. Thanks

Re: When does AE occur in 6E?

In the constants,
minimum LV8 to enable PE
minimum delta% TPS for AE
minimum delta LV8 for AE

Any of these will kill your gas milage if set wrong.

Hope this helps,
Dewayne

You can lower these quite a bit to get rid of that lean spike, but never eliminate it. I had to set mine to 1.56% delta tps & 7 delta lv8 to satisfy my tweaky 'lil v6. You also want to change the accel enrich %BPW vs async pulse table to give the peak of the 'pump shot' at the 1st pulse. Look at your datalogs and see when the lean spike happens and when the pump shot happens and try to get the 2 as close together as possible, or atleast until it feels like the motor's not choking. Tweak the tables so you get less AE at lower deltas and more up higher and economy won't suffer.

I have never messed with this because I wasn't sure what it does.
I'll have to play with it some and see what happens. I see the lean spike you speak of, just wasn't sure what else to do to make it go away.

Re: When does AE occur in 6E?

Thanks for all the replies.

To date I have modified:

AE asynce pulses vs. cool temp
AE % BPW factor vs. asynce pulse

I was able to get results with these but as I said it wasn't occurring fast enough. I will start with these suggestions shortly. It looks like i'm gonna be a daddy today. We are at the hospital now, and she is having contractions. (planned induction).

Re: When does AE occur in 6E?

I'm not seeing those tables. I see AE factor vs. change in LV8??

From what I have been reading, it does seem that eliminating the lean spike is not going to happen. Is it possible to eliminate the spark knock? My afr is spiking to high 15's during increased RPM's. I was thinking about running 100 octane as it is available in my area. I have done work in the SA tables, but don't want the car to be too doggy. It's a work in progress.

Re: When does AE occur in 6E?

LC032E is the accel enrich %BPW vs async pulse table, I think you may have messed with it already (AE % BPW factor vs. asynce pulse). Again, you'll never get rid of that initial lean spike, but you can make it unnoticeable. If you're getting knock on tip-in perhaps you have a bit too much spark. Are you using any additional pe spark? If your main table's right on the edge you might take a little spark out of the pe table at low rpm.

Congrats on the family!

Re: When does AE occur in 6E?

I have removed PE spark advance. I have removed SA in the table from the higher load cells as I thought this might be spot. Now that I think about it, does it make sense to remove SA from low RPM tables regardless of load? Also, can I get away with more SA with higher octane fuel. I know the more timing I remove the doggier the car is.

My baby girl is here. Born yesterday at 11:06 and weighed 8 lb 3 oz. Still waiting for an official length!!
