Stalls when sitting at light
My truck is having a stalling problem when sitting at a stop for more than about 30 seconds. It will be idling just fine, right about 1λ and then it just leans out and dies. It doesnt sputter or anything though, its like I turned the key off but I dont loose power, just the motor cuts off. It only started when i swapped to MPFI from TBI, before it was fine. Other then that its got no problems, fuel pressure and all the mechanical stuff checks out fine when it does it so I've been playing with the tune but have yet to effect the problem. I have a bad OBD port right now and unfourtinatly cant datalog till I get it replaced, I gotta get the stalling solved though so please, discuss...

hey im in the same boat as you. My camaro does the same thing but sometimes not even that long of sitting will do it. Sometimes ill pull up to a light and down shift as normal and as soon as i get below around 10 mph and i push the clutch in to make the final stop and i press the brakes it just dies. Then it sputters when i restrt it. I have no idea why btu just like you i NEED to figure it out...it takes all wind outta my sails lol
Re: Stalls when sitting at light
any chance you guys have your dizzy off a tooth? i bought a car that would run fine, but had a little hiccup at idle. sometimes it would stall, some times it wouldn't.
turned out to be the last guy that put the dizzy in, got it off a tooth and just moved the spark plug wires over one to make up for it. i chased everything from timing, fuel pump and spark plugs but it still did it. one night i noticed it when checking the firing order. pulled the dizzy up, moved it back to the right tooth, put the plug wires back right and reset the base timing and bam, ran great ever since.
also the little pick up coil in the bottom of the dizzy has caused weird stuff on 3rd gens i've been around too.
