What all does the ECM control?
Is there a site or thread that anyone knows of that has a VERY detailed explanation of the ECM and everything it does? Like, if a person was to swap from fuel injection to straight carb, will the ECM still be needed? Does it control anything outside of the carb?
So yea, a good site or book or thread on the details of our ECMs would be awesome if anyone knows of one.
Thanks.
EDIT: I just realized that this is the wrong forum, I'll start a new one in the right forum. Link here:

Re: What all does the ECM control?
It controls the torque converter lockup, so that's definitely one issue when swapping to carb. Depending on the year, it may also control the speedometer (90-92 Camaro, 86-92 Firebird). Those are the years with electronic speedos, I'm not sure if they can be rigged to work without the ECM. The ECM also controls timing, but that can be fixed by replacing the distributor with a vacuum advance one.
