What proms needed
I have a 7730 speed density setup. My question is: What proms can be used to tune it. Does it have to be a AUJP. My setup is in a old camaro and is a standalone system. No A/C, trans hookups, or egr stuff.
Thanks in advance,
Justen

It doesn't have to be AUJP, that was just the most recent BCC for V8 TPI.
You can use S_AUJP, which is a modified version of AUJP.
If you are going to be running forced indution you can use code 59.
You could pull the bin off your existing EPROM and use that.

No, what I mean is are there any proms I can use out of v-6 cars or other v-8s besides the 350 aujp chip to be able to erase and burn my program into for another chip.

Re: What proms needed
You can't (or shouldn't) use a v-6 because the limp-home spark control won't work. Should be able to use any v-8 TPI, not sure if you can use a TBI. For instance, you could easily use an AXXB which is a 305 TPI SD Auto chip but would need to adjust for injector size, trans, etc...

Re: What proms needed
That is what I needed to know. I will reflash each prom I just needed to know what ones I could use. I had heard about the limp home in the v-6 ones.
Thanks. Now I got to find what chips where used. (ex. AUJP AXXB) and so forth.
One more, As Long as I reburn the whole chip will a 5sp chip work also?
Thanks,
Justen

As far as I know, the Auto/Manual change is just one flag. I can't be sure as I used a file that matched my setup (AXXD - 305/5spd).

One more thing - you may know this already, but the easy way to do this is to get a G1 adaptor from Moates (http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=32) $35. It passes through the ESC stuff and allows an easy method for inserting a burned chip. If you are going to tune or plan to swap chips more than a few times, you may want to consider a ZIF socket adaptor also.
