starting point
ok so i have a 89 gta trans am motor with a zero deck block, flat top pistons, lunati voodo cam, 28 lb ls1 injectors, long tube headers, cat eliminated true dual exhaust, and a custom cold air intake with open element filter. reused factory computer (165) and modded factory harness all transplanted into a 78 chevy c10 pickup. i started by setting the injector size, and turning up the target idle across the ect board to 1100 just to get it to idle (otherwise it wont) my question is my blm is at 160+ and i was wondering about what percentage to skew the maf table vs rpm to get closer to the 128 blm, 5%, 10%, 20%, more? just trying to get the thing back down and idle so i can drive it and go from there

If the MAF is still stock then work a little on the injector compensation tables. Then move on to the MAF tables for final tweaking.
If the MAF is de-screened, then adjust the MAF tables after the injector flow rate is set to the best value. Then move on to the inejctor compensation tables.

Re: starting point
what is the pulse width table listed under in tuner pro rt with the 6e bin? maybe i'm just blind or dont understand the lingo. also is there a class or tutorial specifically on the tuner pro software for tuning gm maf computers. most of the lit out there talks about the 730 computers and tuning speed density systems. having a hard time finding 6e specific tutorials on this site or any other for that matter. are they just that uncommon or is it so simple that there isnt much info for noobs like me. it would be nice to find a post specifically on 1.2.3.... steps for tuning the 6e bins just for beginners like me. i can tune anything with a carb on it like my ls1 but i need more knowledge before i dive in head over heels with ecm tuning.

Re: starting point
$6E doesn't have a PW table such that $32/$32A has. So I'm not sure of what is being referenced in the XDF.
There is a lot of information on MAF tuning in the Tuning Guide Book sticky. Chapter 5 for the '7165. Check the MAF Miscellanea link for an over view. Also check the other links.
If you understand carb & distributor curve tuning then you understand EFI tuning. There are only two differences:
1) the lingo
2) mechanical changes vs electronic (calibration) changes
Although one could say that there is a third difference. Which is that an EFI system has a higher level of versatility then mechanical systems.
