8747 need open loop idle...i think

im trying to figure out what constants or tables need to be changed so that i idle in open loop when warmed up. i think i need to be in open because i first started out with a stock AKWA bin for my 350 h.o. (tbi) it started up great and idle good too, but ran super rich. so i messed with my ve tables after datalogging and got them to +/- 5 of 128 till about 3000 rpm. the problem is now i believe its running too lean at idle, to stay idling. it idles fine in park but in gear its constantly wanting to stall out. it catches itself most of the time and stays idling. i have the target idle at 700 rpm right now.

also the iac seems to be zeroing out then i come to a stop then it catches itself and opens up. i messed with the idle screw some. just seems to me that if i open the plates up more to make it get more air it'll just make the iac really stick at 0? should i be aiming for my target iac steps in park or in gear?

what do you think needs to be done?

thanks in advance for any help

I am uncertain what the xdf allows for OL. See if there is a flag to set for OL idle fueling. If not the other option is to disallow CL by setting the coolant temp to max. It then does not see CL ever. I am idleing with 5 steps currently but I am stick. In gear I would think you want to be same 5-10 steps. there is a A/F-RPM-MAP(VAC) table for OL. If you want to change the A/F just use tool and mutiply(14.7 x 1.005= 14.77) to move entire table whre you want to be. Then you need to verify with plug checks. A WB would be hellpfull.

ok so your saying make the CL temp high and then just change the OL AFR table to what i would like. running it in OL all the time is ok?

It is OK it is just that no feedback with 02 sensor. For instance if really cold out you wont be at A/F in that table. you will be lean. If real hot out you will be rich. No compensation(like a carb) I ran OL for a season and fuel mileage sufferred. It was a bandaid to correct surging issues. I run CL now but OL idle and <20 MPH.
