want to "tune on the fly"- need help starting

Ok, here is the deal, I am getting an aldl cable and I already have a laptop to do this with. Ok, so where do I go next. I have been told that I need a copy of a tuner program, so I can probably get a hold of that software, but my question is this: What to do next? and..........also, after I learn how to tune on the fly and get the car where I want it to be . Then don't I need the laptop hooked up to the ecm all of the time?

This APU1 "hardware" also comes with a registered version of TunerPro (the software)
Almost everything that you need....except a chip adapter and ZIF. (Check his site)

Works like a charm! You can watch what your car is doing (Datalog) and adjust the tune on the fly (Emulate) and when your all done and you think that you have your tune right it'll also burn the new chip!!!
