What and how to disable the EGR
Hi Guys. I did a copy of the bin that is in my Tuner Pro software. I was looking around and I did a search of the EGR. My goal is to disable the EGR but I dont know what to do or what to look at. So what must I do to disable it? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Re: What and how to disable the EGR
If the XDf is correct, see the "Disable EGR if MAT < X" entry?
Set it as high as it will go. Usually this is 151 *C.
On most 3rd gen cals this will also disable the EGR diagnostics. As when the EGR isn't enabled, the diag's aren't either.

So if I were to disable the EGR or max it out, then my ECM wont capture or store any or all diagnostic troublecodes?

Well if I disable the EGR or max it out, then I can remove the EGR manifold piece and install a blocking plate as well as disconnect and remove the EGR valve right. All I would have to do is cap off the vac. line right? Sorry for the questions but since I ve gotten this far, I dont see why I should have the EGR system.

Re: What and how to disable the EGR
I dont need it. I live in Holtville, CA., a town of around 6,000 people. When I registered my IROC, I didnt jot down its use for work which is 12 miles away from home. So since the IROC is a "in town" vehicle, I was exempt from a smog test. So I figured, why have it if I dont need it.

Is it hurting your performance in any way? if you sell the car, the new owner may have to pass emissions. What if you move where you need to pass? Leave it if you can.

Re: What and how to disable the EGR
Well when I first got the IROC around 8 years ago, I threw #5 rod (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHja0312gSo). Then it got stolen. Then I found it in a junkyard. Then I stored it in an storage place in CO when I moved back to CA. Then 1 year later, I went to CO and brought it back to me in CA. Sat for 3 more years until October of last year, it experience the "Heart Beat of America." So Im never gonna sell my IROC.
So it will never have another owner, until I pass and one of my 2 boys get it. Also I do plan on moving me and my family out of this hell hole. So your right. Ill just leave it. I need to get a cat. There just to dang expensive. And here here in CA, the air restrictions are too strict.
