New SD engine w/HSR. Start with code59 or start standard code first the switch later

Hey, I have a 383 with a HSR, and Im trying to get it up and running. Should I start with the code in the 730ecm first, and then swap over or should I get it going in code59. I have been trying with I have a couple of Bins from both codes, but it seems that the Code 59 they have so much spark advance compared to the 8D, I believe. Im not going to boost it until it is broken in. I have been using CODE59 and it starts and all, but stutters some when I give it gas. Also Im in my garage trying to base tune it, since I dont have exhaust on it just yet. OH.. Would open shorties cause my WBO2 to read really lean? Thank you in advance.

Yes, air is drawn into the open pipe and the sensor reads it.

It doesn't matter that $59 has more SA then $8D. That is just the numbers is the particular calibration. It is up to the tuner to plug in the values that the engine wants. Not what the tuner thinks the engine wants.

If you have never tuned before, then best to go slow. No boost until you understand what the engine is doing.

I would start with the 59 code that way you don't have to start over when you go with boost.

Took me few days to get my new combo running decently and this is all NA with code 59.

thank you for your help.. Another question. Will I be able to tune it with the open headers, or should I quit worrying about it until I get my exhaust put on? The way I have it not it will start up nicely and idle steadily, But It stutters when I give it gas. Any Suggestions. Thanks.
