Moates G1 Memory Adapter for TPI

Hi guys. I need some help before I order some parts from Moates. So here we go.

1. Do I need to buy a ZIFF socket to install a programmed EPROM into here, or is it ready to drop in a EPROM?

2. Which Ziff socket do I choose?

Reply, no you don't need a ZIF socket. The EPROM will attach directly to the G1 adaptor just fine.

The only reason for a ZIF socket is if you planned to swap EPROMs often to dial in the tune. If you don't plan to do that, then don't worry about the ZIF socket.

S2 Aries 28-pin ZIF Socket is what you will need . Once you start pulling the chip out a few times it is hard to keep the legs on the chip straight .

You could get the GP1 package then, that comes with a ZIF socket and two EEPROMs. http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=41

IIRC, with the Aries socket on there, you can't put the slot cover back on the ECM.
