trying to rule out any and all possiable reasons for losing spark over 70MPH, more towards 80, drive around for 3+ hr at 50+ in the scorching heat no big deal, a few miles above 70 and it dies out, though once back started ran fine in the 50 range again.

stock chip was HNT, want to make sure the HNL chip isn't a possiable problem???

If you think the speed limiter is the problem it isn't. It isn't set on some of the v6 calibrations (255) and it's at 125 on others.

HNL is the Camaro calibration while HNT is the Firebird calibration. Same release date and range of MY's.

The speed limiter cuts fuel. If you changed the rear gears and didn't correct the speedo drive gears in the tranny. You could easily hit it.

If you are truly losing spark then either the ICM, pickup coil, or ignition coil is heating up and dieing. Common for them to work again once they cool down some.

Well id say it wasn't heat related as I drove for nearly 3hrs that day in scorching heat and had no troubles at speed of 30-50+ but just 1-2 miles or less of above 70 and it lost spark, using the back up FP switch did nothing.

Under hood temps should be peaking at lower speeds with less air.
And should not climb drasticly at higher speed for just a min or two.

And just trying to rule everytihng out, I want to trust the car again.

It can still be a heat related ignition issue. At higher MPH the engine RPM is higher. The coil is firing more often. Which puts more heat into it and the ICM.

OTOH, you could have an issue with wires rubbing someplace. A higher RPM also has a different frequency of vibration.

I am assuming that you verified that this is due to a loss of ignition spark from the coil...

Im taking all the proper steps, I just want to rule out all possiable problems before I go testing as the only real test will be another day like 2 Sat's ago, 2-3 hr drive around town in the heat then jump on the eway and punch it and hope I don't get a pricey tow.

change the coil, have carried a new spare for years.
gonna warranty the wires and pick up a new ICM.

I could not verfyi no spark but it would not fire or pop off and barley made it off the eway but once I did re fire it ran fine again and was clickin along at 30-50 just fine through town again.

It was like I lost power/spark, then it came back, lost it, came back, lost it, enough to get me off the eway then it ran fine the rest of the way home.
