Why would simply turning on closed loop via the temp setting make thngs go lean?

Tried closed loop while emulating, ran like crap, then I would plug the "good" chip back in that programed only for open loop and now everything is lean across the board..

idle, cruise, acel, etc.

If you mean your good open loop tune is lean when closed loop is then turned on, it's usually because alot of fueling was added in the open loop tables, then that fuel disappears when closed loop is activated. If this is the case, you will need to add fuel to your main tables.

If you mean you enabled closed loop, ran it a while, then went back to open loop and now it's lean, try unhooking your battery. You might need to clear out the blms.

While you were in closed loop, your last cell 10 blm value would have been written into SAM cell B, assuming that the coolant temperature was sufficiently warm and you were within the SAM cell limits (typically 118 or 128-150 depending upon the bin).

On the next ignition cycle, the stored blm value from SAM cell B is written into all non-zero cells (1-15). If you are always in open loop afterwards, the old blm values will not be updated.

Are you seeing a non-128 blm when you are in open loop now?

Please explain what you mean by lean (Elevated BLM, Wideband reading, intake popping etc.).

well all this stuff is so complicated, the BLM and INT do not register while I am in open loop, I prefer this as I was told the only difference between open and close is while close the only thing is the ability to compensate for varying ambient temps.

I pretty much reduced fueling on open loop table since I am driving it all the time

what are main tables?

I incrementally increased the MAF 1,2,3, entires, as they needed them, the 4,5,6 are stock( surprisingly)

tps position to load, Open loop % increase vs. temp which I took Down

used a ARAP spark table and tuned the pings out of it, and pretty much that's it

no intake popping, tuning software is not hook up just going with wideband and basically feel no power the leans drop the entire driving "experience" one full point (AFR).

cruise 15.4, idle same, full throttle 13.5 afr, and I see some 16.5 -17 on light load low speed acceleration

I unplugged the ecm a few time, that would accomplish the same thing as disconnecting the battery right?

we'll nothing changed, I put a good running chip in it I was using for weeks and it is lean across the board..
