Garbled data,incorect .xdf ???
Garbled data,incorect .xdf ???
So I have a 92 5.7 TPI car in the shop just finished a new 383 and need to make some adj. Car had been previously "tuned" and has a non stock chip in it.I attached the Memcal to my burner and was able to read the .bin on the chip but when I attempt to open it to modify, the tables are all whacked ! I have tried using the 8DF as well as 8D super.ecu files to read/open the file and while it does show tables they are NOT right. For instance, main spark,35kpa/2000rpm may say .0123 then next cell says 77.32 then 24 then 63 and so on.I am using the latest TP V5 software on my laptop and tried both a burn1 and APU1 emulator/burner with the same results. I suspect I have the incorrect .xdf file any help/direction would be greatly appreciated. This setup is a six speed, speed density NA 383 with a 7730 computer.
SORRY ! .xdf, NOT adf,I am VERY tired and just noticed this !

What size BIN file did you get from the chip? It should be 32768 bytes. That's the $8D, so you're on the right track.
It sounds like you might not have gotten a good read.
Try reading the 'stock/modified' chip as a 27SF512, from chip address 008000-00FFFF, and set your buffer addressing from 000000-007FFF.
Save the resultant file, and you should be better off. Things should look 'sane', such as the fuel injector size and timing tables for example.
Hope this helps,
Craig
