iac strategy for vss delete needed

91 z, 730 ecm. I've deleted the vss due to a number of issues. As a consequence, my iac loses idle control because the reset speed is never reached.

I need a work around. Any ideas?

Not an easy one. Try using a 555 to generate a pulse train of about 50 MPH. Add in a push button to activate it. Then once moving press the button for a moment to force an IAC reset to take place.

That's funny, my buddy told me to do the same thing. Would I have to press it regularly during a trip or does it only require one reset per eng run?

The other thing I thought about was using the drp and feeding it to the vss. But then the car would never be stationary to the ecm. Could that work?

I have done this manyu times by just getting min air set right so the IAC has about 20-30 counts. Maybe a little more timing at idle.

Whenever I played with the stall saver it got worse.

Bad situations off roading with a system with no VSS sometimes I would just hit neutral. I had wired in a park/Neutral wire and switch but it only hit neutral.

This was a 1227747 ECM HTH!

Any further updates or alternative solutions to this? I have a non-road-legal car with no speedo drive, and will be using an EBL in a 1228746 ECU to tune it, looking for the best way to eliminate unwanted side effects of no VSS. If the noted IAC reset trigger could be done off of engine RPM (say, 1500 RPM at throttle of >10%, for example) that would likely resolve any issues I would likely run into (though it might create issues of its own?)

With the EBL the IAC is reset at key-off. Just be sure that the ECM continues to have battery power for a minimum of 4 seconds after key-off.
