Injector Offsets
Hi everyone. It's been a long time since i've posted anything. So i'm just now getting back to my car and getting caught up on everything thats been going on the past few years.
I've been searching for the injector offsets for accel injectors (p/n 150826) for a while now. It seems that either this information just isn't provided by accel or they want it to be some big secret? Some post's i searched through on other forums had tried bosch offsets with minor success. I was just hopeing that someone here has maybe run into this same problem before also.
Thanks,
Brandon

Re: Injector Offsets
Have you tried contacting the manufacturer directly? If I am not mistaken, the Accel stuff is made by Bosch, much like the Ford Racing injectors are. Are there any serial numbers on the injectors themselves?

Re: Injector Offsets
I did try contacting accel via email and their "ticket" system. Both went unanswered. Kind of odd if you ask me. I have heard before that these were made by bosch. I just wasn't for sure how close they were to bosch injectors. I will try to go out and find some numbers on the injectors themselves. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Injector Offsets
Sorry for the long delay. I've been a little busy lately so i didn't have time to investigate the injectors for numbers until today. The only numbers i could find was 01D107B. Which was on the side of the plastic top where the harness plugs into. I've seen various claims that their Bosch injectors and others that state they are made by Standard. Maybe i'm being a little too picky about what i input into the prom? I figured the more the ecm knows about the injectors the better off i'll be in getting the tune to straighten out.

Re: Injector Offsets
It is well worth having the correct injector compensation values in the calibration. Ford has released it for a bunch of the injectors they use. Quite interesting how much they vary from one injector to another.

Re: Injector Offsets
The reason i decided to investigate this is because i noticed my VE's had a rather steep slope it seemed below the 70-75 kpa mark. Almost like a rain gutter look. I thought that at one time or another i had read in a post this was the result of incorrect injector pw tables? It's been a while since i've been around this stuff so i could be completely off base with this. Any insight?

Re: Injector Offsets
Well, I have Bosch Design III 39lb injectors. While using the stock offsets, at idle, I would idle at around 160 blms and no matter what I did, I could not get it to go lower that. Cruising around, I'd get 128-135 blms and no matter what I did to my VE tables, I couldn't get it to budge. With just the change of my injector offsets per the datasheet, I'm running in the 135-150 blm range at idle and I'm showing 110 to 115 blms at cruise which means I have work to do but at least now, changes I make to the VE table actually work.
So yes, it is very important to have correct injector offsets.

Re: Injector Offsets
I think i'm going to try and figure this one out on my own. Any tips for tuning these tables? I think i can do the offset vs battery table by watching the blms with the alternator disconnected.

Re: Injector Offsets
For anyone who's interested. I hounded accel until i finally got what i was looking for. They sent me an e-mail with the following:
"Brandon, Rise times as follows; 12 Volts is 2ms, 11 Volts, 2.3ms and 9 Volts is 3 ms and that is +/- 10%. Not sure if this what you requested. This is the start of the injector signal until it is fully open.
Thank you."
Now to put this together for my table.
Edit:
Hopefully i can plot these in excel to get closer than what i am now.

Re: Injector Offsets
Anyone care to check my figures for the saujp4 tables? If i did this correctly i think they should be close to 2258 @ 11.2, 1739 @ 12.8, and 1159 @ 14.4v (values in usec). I came to this by plotting the known values in excel and then solving for the unknown values by creating a curve to fit the values that were unknown.

Re: Injector Offsets
Did they have any other values? The datasheets should have offset values through a higher range of voltages and a multiplier for fuel pressure. This is the datasheet for my injectors:
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/ics/m-9593-m39.pdf
See how there's many different values for offsets and the fuel pressure?

Re: Injector Offsets
bump for old thread+ new information. Bosch III EV6 39lh/hr injectors. ive read around in the past that using these injectors designed for DOHC ford mills would present significant tuning issues since the spray pattern would point toward the port walls in a pushrod mill. i already had them so figured id see for myself what the tuning issues would be. since ive worked out all the other bugs i could now understand what the potential problems would be. first of all, since these spray the walls more than anything, the fuel delivery acts more like a wet flow design. consequently this hurt my fuel milage. secondly, long duration driving showed that heat soaking worsened the running characteristics. heat soaking in the intake and heads(ports) when driving over 2 hours would cause leaning issues. i can only figure that there is massive puddling at the entrance of the ports also causing overly rich conditions at idle. i just drove 2 days straight for over 14 hours of total run time. both days i had to significantly increase fueling after the first 2 hours of constant driving, and blms still pegged 160. forget about PE, i couldnt hammer on it even if i wanted to because afr's would hit 16-17's. ive only noticed it one other time(driving from san antonio to vegas) and the same exact thing would happen. once it fully cooled off i had to lean the fuel mixture out again to where it was and everything was normal. after 1.5 hours of travel it would just start showing signs but not too bad. so in conclusion, the ford 39/42# injectors are a bad idea. they can be tuned around only so much but drving on a really hot day for a cruise and it will show why. so the other injectors have been shipped and they will be installed no later than this weekend. hope someone will see this and think twice about using them lol.
on a side note, internet speed really sucks here so its slow as hell. im trying to search for the bosch III 19# injector offsets again. can someone help me out and post a link?
thanks!
