Glossary
..... Is there a glossary ANYWHERE that gives descriptive info on the bin categories in tuning programs ... I'm referring to a description of what the item is ... what changes do ... and what other categories might be affected by the changes made ? ... how about some tuning strategies too ! If anyone could put this together and publish it , it would sell ........ Example : TCC Min Load Limit Hysteresis ..... or ..... Accel Enrich % BPW factor vs asynch pulse
..... I Know , I know ... use the search function and spend the rest of your life reading through the acres of archives ........ SOMEONE knows ALL this stuff and can put it in one place for those of us who once had to get up off the sofa and turn the dial to select one of the three channels on TV and weren't born with a keyboard or joystick in front of us .......... Some of those more advantaged that do fall into that latter category would surely appreciate it $$$$ also ......... PLEASE ?!?!?

Re: Glossary
Here is the best AE tuning tips i've found on the net. It's intended for the Holley systems but it can be used for factory efi systems if you use some sideway thinking. There's some good definitions and flow charts for tuning AE.

Thanks , but I'm not really looking for AE tuning in particular ... I picked that category because of the WTF ?!?!? factor ... a lot of the items under constants , flags , and tables are self-explanatory ... Desired idle speed vs coolant temp for example ... but most of the important ones are not ... especially with regard to their interaction with other settings ..... I was just wondering out loud if anyone knew of a publication that spent as much time and ink explaining ALL the tuning settings like most do on the fundamentals of sensor operation ... you can't pick up a book on tuning EFI systems without there being a chapter devoted to the "brains" of the system ... I know what an O2S does ... how the MAF works ... What I am hoping to find is a line by line XDF description of what the line is , what changes could / should be made , and what else might be affected by making those changes ...

Re: Glossary
The problem with what you are asking for is that the person that wrote the ECU/XDF file can use any description that they choose. I've run into the same thing, where I look at an entry and don't know exactly which table/parameter it is referring to.
You can take two ECU/XDF files for the same maskid and the entries for the same parameter or table can have two completely different titles. It is just the nature of the beast.
If there is a hac available for the mask that you are working with, cross reference the parameter/tables address from the ECU/XDF to the hac. This will give you a better idea of what you are working on.
Can also do the opposite, look at the hac and then the ECU/XDF for that address.
