Wanna use my new HDR1....

I bought myself a HDR1 memory header in hopes that I could read a "ADS Superchip" that I used to run... and maybe make a hybrid tune from my stock APYU Bin & the ADS Chip

The car made 330 Rwhp and 349Ft/Lbs with a lean WOT on a Mustang Dyno with the ADS chip...
So I bought a APU1 G1 Zif and tried to program my own chips...
I can Emulate/Datalog and have burned a few chips as I make progress...
I thought that I was doin OK till I went to the dragstrip and ran 14.4 @94 Mph. (which doesn't come anywhere near my 330 Hp!!!)

So I've been pissing around with this ADS chip and the HDR1 all night and can't get anywhere. So I need someone to hold my hand!!!

As far as I can tell I have the proper Prom/HDR1 orientation in the Autoprom.
http://www.moates.net/documentation....entation_id=12
I opened Flash and Burn and it says that it can't find hardware??? Even though I can see that I'm connected to the Autoprom USB...
If I go to the TunerPro RT program and pull down the Tools Menu I can get the same Moates PROM I/O window and it says that I've read the chip but I'm stuck after that...

Can anybody help me???
Please!!!!

Re: Wanna use my new HDR1....

Update....

I got the Flash and Burn program to read the ADS Superchip once I closed down TunerPro... But then I'm stuck again!

Once I've read the chip how do I save the bin to my laptop???
Sorry but my computer skills are lacking...

Re: Wanna use my new HDR1....

The Flash-n-Burn software is basically built into TP now so running both at the same time would probably cause a conflict.
On either of them when reading the chip "into the buffer", the next step is to save buffer to a file IIRC.
I don't have HW connected here to open the Moates I/O screen so I can't give you the exact menu items to go through.

Re: Wanna use my new HDR1....

OK, I'm making progress but with some hicups....

I can read the ADS Chip through the HDR1,
When I "Save Buffer to File" I get a message that says Bytes written to file; 1
Instead of 16KB like my other files...?

I opened up the Bin in TunerPro and all the values were wrong... jibberish if you will...

Have any ideas gentlemen? I must be doing something wrong...
Any help would be appreciated

Try a different chip type or offsets.

Re: Wanna use my new HDR1....

I have it in the way described in the link above...
Still no luck...

I have my Autoprom switches in the same direction as I would have them when I Emulate and datalog... Would that have something to do with it???

Once again, I'm not trying to burn anything, just read and download it to see what's on the ADS Superchip bin for comparisons sake...

Has anyone else done this???
Please help!!!

Re: Wanna use my new HDR1....

OMG!!!
After more than 2 weeks of trying to download this old ADS Superchip with no luck at all I found this...

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...read-chip.html

Thanks to Craig Moates for answering this thread almost a year ago....
I followed his steps and sure enough it worked!!!
Looked like my problem was with the Chip addressing/Buffer addressing.
I had almost given up hope!!!

It doesn't look like there are that many differences between the ADS chip and what I was running in the first place...
Time to go play with my Autoprom....
