TPI questions (beginner)

I've got an 88 Camaro 5.7L and I'm working in TunerPro RT getting ready for burning my first chip. I'm using ABYA and $32B as my BIN and mask.
What should the number of cylinders be? It was at 32 but I'm not sure what it really should be.
What should my fuel cut off (engine speed) and fuel resurme (engine speed) be at? they were set at about 116 RPM but I changed them to more logical numbers.
I found my '165 pcm has a hypertech chip in it from a previous owner when I installed the G1 adapter and ZIF socket. Should I worry about this not being a stock piece since the last motor was severely damaged? Or does it not matter because my chip is being used for everything other than limp mode?
I appreciate any help, I've been doing quite a bit of research and I wanted to make sure I'm going in the right direction.

Re: TPI questions (beginner)

you might want to start reading the stickies. I would just jump to $6e mask arar or arap and unplug you 9th injector. The hypertech will be needed if it is your memcal for just the lhm and cylinder select ect.

I have been following the stickies. the $32B and ABYA is the combination I've found that's as close to my set up as possible. I installed the hypertech chip as the memcal using the instructions on moates website, I was just wondering if it was going to work the same as a memcal.

Re: TPI questions (beginner)

basically I'm curious if the hypertech chip which looks similar to a memcal will still have a limp mode like a stock memcal does. but i'm guessing since it looks the same it will operate the same.

Yes you can plug a Hypertech chip into your Moates G1 without issue.

Re: TPI questions (beginner)

If your programming follows the same as SD bin files, then the your numbers in original question seem odd. Cylinders should be 0 for v8 and stock fuel cutoff (engine speed) is 10000 rpm and resume is 9500. Those odd numbers you gave lead me to believe your bin is corrupt or you are using the wrong mask to read it.

+1
The mask is not reading the data correctly.

Re: TPI questions (beginner)

is there a way to check that kind of thing other than opening it up and looking for numbers that don't make sense?

Re: TPI questions (beginner)

If your bin is not corrupt then open it in TunerPro and go to Tools, Advanced and Hex Editor. 9th set of digits in top row should be mask ID.
