once i get the ebl flash as good as i can with the ve learns then whats the next step to tune to get more power ?

 

Power is getting the AFR is the ballpark and finding best mean timing. While doing this can also work on items such as tip in (AE), TCC lockup points, and other fine tuning.

Think of SA timing as torque, more timing, more torque. Of course this only works to the point where the the timing then becomes too much.

In this case the engine will either get rough or it will start to detonate. Remember that a fast engine is smooth, while a slow engine is rough.

thanks for the info , it's coming along slowly . i'm trying to get the most out of it then next month in goes the lt1 cam an hopefully in april a t70 turbo . i'll be popping in an out with questions i'm sure . i'm really impressed with this ebl flash . i'm putting a posi in next weekend with 3.23 gears a bump up from the stock 2.73 my question is will this require extra tuning an if so in what areas . thanks again for all the help

 

With the gear change can tweak the TCC lock up tables. Note that the TCC is more of a driver preference, although should be sure to lock during lighter loads. There is a TCC logic write-up in the Tuning Guide Book sticky, chapter 5, 8746/7747/8063 ECM section.

With the change in gears may be able to add a little to the LM SA.

Note that with the rear gear change the VSS gear(s) need to be changed. These are located in the tail housing of the trans.

If not changed the speedometer will be off. The ECM's MPH can be tweaked with the VSS PPM parameter.
