Burn2 not recognized in TunerPro (OK in Flash & Burn)
Finally bought a Burn2, HDR1, proms and G1 adapter. Only want to read stock Speed Density TPI MEMCALs, then disable functions like VATS, EGR, purge, smog and possibly adjust cooling fan(s) temps. Then burn them.
Downloaded and installed Flash & Burn which detects the Burn2 and reads the MEMCAL. Not sure how to save the bin for editing. Downloaded bins $8D.xdf, 8D MOD.xdf to practice with..but can't locate any windows that allow me to disable any functions.
Installed TunerPro (free version) and I can open the windows (flags) that allow me to disable the functions on the saved bins. Problem is that TunerPro won't recognize the Burn2. I have no problem buying TunerPro RT "if" the Burn2 will work with it, problem might be that the free TunerPro version has no Emulation Toolbar?
Been looking through the stickies but haven't found any answers. Will the Burn2 and TunerPro RT do what I want? To read & write TPI SD MEMCALs? My engines are mostly stock and I only need to disable certain basic functions.
Thanks

Thanks for the information, it's printed and in my notebook. Just learned from the TunerPro forum that the Burn2 will only work with the TunerPro RT software (not the free one).

really? i've never had issues like that unless it was a worn out PROM(bad contact), or my 1 instance of a solder joint that failed on the Burn2(repaired myself).

Maybe I should take it apart, i will read different 27c256 memcals with the hdr1 or even a adapter I made from a digikey part and it will read correctly 1 out of 5 times and the other times only show up as a 2k or a 16k with the correct start and end address. I use my trusty old pp2.

well, should anybody ever note that they need to press down on a specific corner of the PROM to allow it to read/program correctly, take out the whole 2 screws that hold it together and take a look at the corner solder joints, you may see what i did and decided to fix it with leaded solder.

Hmm I will pop it open tomorrow. it has been that way since day one witch lead me to believe it was the hdr1. I used the hdr1 in my pp2 and tried to reprogram though it as well with bad results so I thought it was the hdr1. Thanks for the heads up that thats not normal.
