And you'll have to read the manual to be sure it will do the chips you want. Even if it does it may not be flawless.

Curiosity made me read the English Language manual (which shows pictures of software still in Chinese) and says it supports the old UV Eproms from GM ECMs, but does not list newer EEPROM readily avaialble from Moates we all use.

If your going to start experimenting with cheap chinese stuff, then buy from China, probably 1/3 the price...I've seen some as low as $10. but never seen anyone make it work? This way your paperweight is less costly.

Re: programmer??

I use my BURN2 pretty much exclusively anymore. I do have a Willems GQ-3X on my desk, if I need to program an EEPROM and don't want to dig out my BURN2 from my tuning bag.

Re: programmer??

The only way I know of to flash the ECM is to change it to a flash ECM, may as well start with the best and look at EBL.

To change programming on your ECM, depending on what came in your car, would need equiptment noted above for chip or memcal. Have to remove it from ECM to read and program/flash/burn. Moates would have everything needed.

Re: programmer??

Although a great article, the equiptment and links are very dated to what's used today.

Yeah I hope to go through it soon and edit or add to what is there with working and more modern links soon. It's just a lot of stuff to go through, and will take some time. I've already edited and added a few things.
