Using original prom in Moates adapter?

Is there any reason why I would not be able to use the original 24 pin prom that came with my ecm (8746 tbi) in the Moates G2 adapter? It seems to fit just fine. I would like to test and make sure the ecm will work with a known good prom before i try and burn one of my own, now that I have the socket soldered in place.

Test away, it will work fine, just put the original 24 pin PROM towards the "bottom" of the 28 pin Dip socket, in other words, there should be 4 open spots above the #1 and #24 pins.
