Trying to reset idle speed w/Dynamic EFI

Hi
I would like some input from tuners of the EBL P4 Flash.
I'm tried to increase the idle speed but I'm missing something.
I went into Tuner Pro under tables and found both IAC idle speed parameters to change with using an automatic (Drive & Park/Neutral). I selected the box that had 750 and changed it to 725 in both parameters. Saw the ** up top so I knew I made a change. I selected the "floppy disc" icon and saved the bin and the ** went away. Reflash the ECM and it didn't change the idle speed.
I'm reading right now in Tuning part 2 on page 5 and it says the easiest way is to use an off set. How much of an off set would I use to increase speed from 600 to 725?
After I get the speed up I would like to lean out the fuel at idle also because it smells/is a little rich. Plug readings show this.
Thanks.

Re: Trying to reset idle speed w/Dynamic EFI

A change in idle RPM from 750 to 725 and only at one location is tough to see. The ECM interpolates between the values in the table according to the current CTS reading. So unless the CTS is at exactly the temperature as the table entry that was changed, the desired idle RPM can be different.

There is also the idle dead band, or variation from the actual idle to the desired idle speed. If the idle is hitting the desired, +- the dead band, the IAC won't move.

How much of an off set would I use to increase speed from 600 to 725?

Use an offset of 125, which is the difference between 600 & 725 RPM.

Re: Trying to reset idle speed w/Dynamic EFI

I changed the offset to 125 when the engine was at operating temperature. Did the floppy icon/save bin steps. Went into WUD and selected flash to reprogram. Selected radio button to "read my Bin", got a pop up screen that said "over write file" and I selected yes. Hit radio button to select flash ECM. Reflashed and idle is still at 600.
Did I miss a step in doing anything?
I'm leaving the car outside to get cold to make sure IAC motor will increase speed when cold. It did when the ECM had a chip in it.
I do see the steps change for the IAC on the WUD and when I jumped out terminals A&B of the ALDL to reset IAC I did feel it vibrating.

I will say, I took the car out and started the "learn VE". Went about 30 miles on the expressway and some local driving, showed I was getting 16MPG ,I was shocked, never thought I was even getting close to this. The other thing is, the engine even at 600, never idled as smooth as it does now.

Need to get the RPM up.

Re: Trying to reset idle speed w/Dynamic EFI

Selected radio button to "read my Bin",

The "Read Bank" reads the calibration out of the EBL Flash ECM.

Use the "Program Bank" radio button to set the calibration into the EBL Flash ECM. Since you likely overwrote your current calibration will need to set it up again.

The other thing is, the engine even at 600, never idled as smooth as it does now.

So true with an EBL Flash system.

Also, there is the Intro to Tuning pages on our site along with additional documentation installed on your laptop/PC. There are three 'Help' files installed that are accessible from the EBL Flash Program group.
