1995 350 tbi

Hey, yeah I'm a truck guy but I'm very interested in running the code 58$ on my truck and I would love some opinions and help. This will be my first tunning project and once I get out of college I would really love to transfer my knowledge to building my dream comaro.

What I'm planning on doing as far as engine modding is quite moderate just a whipple supercharger for now so I can get the basics down, however before I move on to do my motor mods, I want to get a software and basic understanding of what I'm doing. So plane is to get software and computer wiring done and mess around with my stock tune, then tune with bigger injectors, and fianally when I feel comfortable put on the supercharger.

I would really like help in figuring out if my current ECM will work or if I need to switch to the 730 ECM and if I need to switch help finding a wiring diagram will be outstanding.

Thanks for the help and I hope that I'm a truck guy doesn't spoil your forum, just the truck forums don't have as much tunning support. Thanks again

The Sy Ty $58 guys have a new $59
http://www.code59.org/index.php?

Or a better route may be a Dynamic EBL.

Re: 1995 350 tbi

If you want to use $58 or $59, those codes will only run in the '7730/'7749 and equivalent ECMs.

I know there has been discussion of using $59 in a TBI application, but I'm not aware of any actual swaps.

Swapping to MPFI would solve that.

The problem is though you list this for a 1995 truck, well if it's auto it will have an electronically control trans, which requires either a trans controller or retaining the original PCM for trans control.

Neither the '7730, nor the EBL are capable of trans control.

Re: 1995 350 tbi

Thanks for the quick reply, I have thought of the auto issue and I am not really I fan of autos in the first place. I am currently collecting parts for a nv4500 swap into it.

I did not realize that 59 hasnt been used on to many tbi's. I really enjoy the simplicity of the tbi and I do hope I can keep it.

If I have to, so I can have the boost controle, waste gate, and fan controle, I will switch Mpfi.

I have looked up the dynamic ebl thanks to eaglemark and I think I will be going that route for hardware so that was a great help.

Any tech articles that you guys may know of or anymore routes and ways to have more controle of my motor I would love to read and hear about. I'm still trying to come up with the best way, and I feel currently pretty lost.

And the gear head efi forum is awesome I have been reading it for hours now. Thanks for the help once again.

Re: 1995 350 tbi

I talked with bobR from dynamic ebl and I'm defiantly thinking I'm going that route I'm a little confused on if the dynamic comes with its own code or if you can uplode your own codes on to it? I'll ask bobR about it but if any one knows of any pros and cons about his set up I'd appreciate it if they would share, thanks.

Great to hear! Then as soon as I get the rest of my manual parts together I'll purchase the dynamic ebl to swap in at the same time. Thanks for all the help EagleMark
