1227730 Wideband Datalogging issues

Hey guys,

I'm having some issues datalogging my wide band o2 using the 41026_4A Bin. Neither pins F14 or A3 will work. I've tried Selecting WB OPT 2, Bit7, Input "A3", Else "F14" or A3 and unselecting it for F14. Nothing shows when datalogging. I've verified the o2 is working by removing the pin and checking it with a volt meter. It gets 4.98 volts when fully lean. The wide band controller I'm using is an Innovate LC-1. Nothing displays at all for wide band when trying to datalog. I'm using Tunerpro RT V5 with the 8D_SAUJP_4A xdf and SAUJP_V4_01 ads file. The strange thing is in the log file it just shows 7.35 for WB AFR (LC-1 0-5V Raw) it doesn't change at all. When measuring the wb o2 wire going to F14 with a meter, voltage never goes that high. I've attached the Bin, ads and xdf that i'm using. Can anyone tell me if I'm missing something? Something has to be off in the bin file.

Thanks - Justin

I'll have to check back on my notes when I get a chance, but I know I had a problem where I could only get one input or the other to work, regardless of whether that bit was selected or not.

IIRC I could get pin F14 to work.

Thanks. I'm wondering if maybe I used a messed up bin or something. When looking at it everything appears to be set up correctly so this one has me scratching my head.

Did you take apart the ECM and cut the trace to that supplies power to that pin?

You don't need to do that.

Hrm according to the saujp docs it said to cut the trace. I'll have to look again when I'm on that laptop and not the iPad. I did that to my ECM and it works great with the innovative wb. Granted it has been. 4 years since I did that mod.

I've used both '7730 and '7749 without any modifications logging WBO2 through F14. I haven't been able to get A3 to work on any code I use.

Ok that is what I did.. I used B3 for the 0-5v input.

Didn't know since 2010 that someone found a easier way..

I've actually had my car set up this way since '08 and a friend's truck (that uses a '7730) before that.

Re: 1227730 Wideband Datalogging issues

Does anything need to be modified in the ADS or XDF? I haven't had any luck finding anything. For sure the wideband controller is working because I tested it with a meter and it's putting out voltage. I've tried to select both F14 and A3. I've also physically tried both inputs and have had no luck. I'm just wondering if something is set wrong in the definition file or the bin. Does everything look ok to you guys as far as the settings for wideband in the bin and xdf?

Re: 1227730 Wideband Datalogging issues

I would have to check my old harness but i believe i used f14 on my 730 with code $59. Had to make sure lc1 output was programmed correctly for use. Worked fine

Could you try code $59 but select the 1 bar option for your motor to see if ecm works?

Re: 1227730 Wideband Datalogging issues

OP, check the factor/offset settings and post them up. Maybe someone with the same WB can post theirs and give you an idea...

I have a WMS wideband and these are my settings:

Operation: Multiply ([X*Factor]+Offset)
Factor: .039200
Offset: 10

I use TPv4 still so yours may have different wording.

Re: 1227730 Wideband Datalogging issues

Check where you ran the signal common wire.
You may have output from the controller but it is not referenced to the correct ground point on the ECM.
IIRC I used the original NB ground/common point (not sure of the pin, don't have any info here at work)
JP

Also try the "Raw" selection if you have not tried already to see if any of the values change just to see if a proper signal is being read into the ECM analog input.
EDIT:
(I see that you are using the "raw" setting, the 7.35 is the lowest AFR reading, you do not seem to be getting a rise in the analog signal)
RAW input reads in "counts 0-255 not AFR so you can apply custom scaling to it for a gauge, etc that has other than 0-5V input.

Re: 1227730 Wideband Datalogging issues

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to go through everything this week.

JP,
I'm running an innovate LC1 controller. I looked up the pinouts of the ECM. It looks like pin E15 is the o2 signal ground. I will try jumping the ground from the controller to that pin to see if that works. Any other ideas? Does the bin ads and xdf files look setup correctly?

Thanks - Justin

Re: 1227730 Wideband Datalogging issues

Problem solved.

You have to use the SAUJP bin.
