Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

Anybody have a stock bin that will work for an 88 LB8 with 5spd?
I'm having hell tracking down anything on it,nearest I have come is a likely BCC is HNL.
The ecm should be a 12207302 pretty sure.
Can't seem to find a copy though and didn't want to bump a bunch of 5-10yo threads.
Thanks in advance.

Your part number is incorrect, which is probably why you can't find anything. Do a Google search for "1227302 bin" and you'll get everything you need.

CraigMoates under downloads or gearhead-efi forum. Tuned Performance may have one send him an email.

Re: Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

I sent you a message, I've got one as does Tuned Performance (he gave it to me).

Also, what do you need it for? Tuned Performance and I have been working on altering a BIN to get a 3.4L swap working properly.

Re: Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

Just a stock 88 LB8 with 5spd swapped in is all it is.
For some reason has an ADTX prom in the ecm.
I had already went thru Craigs site,Gearhead,Google,GMECM and some other sites.
This was my last idea to find one besides dropping an email to John at TC.
All i'm finding is auto files, and TP doesn't have the switches to swap from auto to manual.
Though i've been doing obdii for awhile,i'm still new at chips and haven't started digging in them with a hex editor so not sure what addresses are what to change that stuff.
Sorry about the ecm number being wrong, the ecm provided is a bare board with no identifiable markings.
I'm ready to just throw a fiero 2.8/5spd prom and see if it works.

Re: Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

IIRC, a j-body is a Caviler? If so that PROM won't work correctly. They run a DIS setup that has different spark settings then a distributor setup.

If you do try it, and if I am correct, open the EST/BYPASS connector. If the engine runs better...

Re: Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

Didn't think about that,I knew the Jbody were cavalier but I think you're right and they might use DIS.
I'm still hoping the ecm is a 7302,since i can't identify it.
I have some 7170's and a 7727 around along with some later memcal V8 ecm's.
Might just need to do the 7730 swap I've seen on here.
If nothing else will likely just burn an auto chip for him.
I was told it was an 88 2.8 with a 5spd swap, and the stock auto chip was making it run rich.
What he gave me when I couldn't read the BCC from pic was an unhoused ECM with an ADTX 5.0 prom.
I'll take any suggestions or advice.

Re: Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

I'll need to double check, but I'm pretty sure that I have a complete 302 with the HNL, that took me forever and a day to find, in it.

J body: Cavalier, Sunbird, J-2000, Cimarron, Firenza, Skyhawk, all FWD with DIS except 85-6 (one of those 2)
N body also DIS (Cutlass Ciera and similar)
W body: Grand Prix, Beretta/Lumina, Cutlass Supreme, Regal, also DIS

Pretty sure most of these either used a 1227730 (except W-body) and 727 (W-body except 93). The bins in most of these used a different timing offset AND the chips ARE not a direct drop into the 302 (MEMCALs and not PROMs with CALPAK).

302 to 730 swap isn't worth it for the extra wires and BS you would have to add...
Auto 2.8 PROM has no issues with a 5-speed. I ran one for years with no issues except when the MAF was dying or dead. HNRs are prolific (87 auto PROM). Tell him to or just plain search eBay for a seller called "ragged"... He sells ECMs, MEMCALs, and PROMs.
If he's running super rich, then it's either the ADTX (which probably shouldn't hardly be running the engine period) or a sensor issue. Or it could just be the wrong ECM altogether.
Not sure what ECM the Fiero ran (as it's not listed on my car-part.com results), but it doesn't seem to be interchangeable with the 302... The bin may copy, but if the Fiero has the wrong chip in it...

Re: Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

Fiero uses a 7170 with a 2732 and had dizzy/multiport 2.8.
They used both 4 and 5 speed getrags and later models were 5spd isuzu.
I don't think it will interchange.
This car will more than likely need work anyway,it was pulled out of a field.
A guy had it that i've programmed a bunch of OBDII stuff for and mentioned the problem.
I told him it should just be an easy burn to drop it off sometime.
Fast forward a few months and a random guy is pointed to me from Autozone and when I meet up to get ecm and asking questions figure out he has bought this car from the field.
I really don't want to offer up an ecm swap,I would ebay the proper ecm and chip before that.
Just not sure what his budget is,don't think it's much considering the car.
Honestly,if he had a couple hundred to spend I would tell him be easier to save a bit more and have me LS swap it lol.
Then again, might be an oppurtunity to sell the 2.8 from my 88gt that is about to get swapped out.

Thanks guys, unless someone posts up an HNL bin i'm gonna just burn him off an auto prom and see if i can be there to watch over when it's installed.
If anything goes wrong i'll just take my proms back and order him a proper ecm/prom.

ADTX is a PROM for a '7747 ECM, not the '7302 ECM. So the ECM is either in limp mode or it isn't the right ECM. The 7302 ECM will have the uProc on the upper board, while the '7747 ECM will only have the PROM and CALPAK on the upper board (little board).

Re: Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

I've never heard of a uproc, but this ecm does have the prom and calpack on the same board.
I can post a pic if you can identify it,I haven't been in enough of them to tell the difference.

Re: Need Stock bin for 88 V6/5spd

Found an ebay ad of a 7302 with the cover removed, looks the same as what i'm looking so i'm hopeful.
However, while searching I also came across a 7302 ecm with an HNL tag for $5 and $8 shipping buy it now so just jumped all over that.
If nothing else,I can read the prom and post it up as well as archive over on gearhead.

The uProc is the micro-processor, it is a large 40-pin DIP chip. It is tucked under the main cover above the PROM.
