96 LT1 with 93 ECM 16159278

I got a 96 F-body LT1 complete with a damaged harness and the 16214399 ECM. I also have a 93 F-body ECM 16159278 and harness. I WILL NOT be using the 4399 or the 94-95 ECM 16188051. I would like to use the 9278 so I can do some prom tuning like I do with my TPI 7730.

I understand there are some differences between harnesses effected by the physical engine differences. The ones I know of hand are the crank position sensor, ign control module and coil.

Before I do anything I want to have as much info as possible to get what I need. I already have Moates AutoProm and TunerPro RT which I use for my 7730. I also see the necessary files on Gearhead's EFI site.

So my concern is whether using the 9278 on the 96 LT1 is doable by addressing the necessary connectors for the crank sensor, ICM and coil. Any assistance from this great forum will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Re: 96 LT1 with 93 ECM 16159278

More research revealed that sensors like knock, O2s along with qty., TPS and injectors are not the same. The CTS is the only common item. Meaning, I have to use the sensors for the proper year of the ECM.
Is that a fair statement?
Thanks.

IIRC, in '96 things went OBD-II. This is why there are more O2 sensors, to monitor post cat-con. As for the TPS not being the same, it may be that the physical dimensions of the TPS are different. But functionally the same, it is nothing more then a potentiometer.

Injectors, that is up in the air. Way back I grabbed an LT1 intake assembly and (IIRC) the FPR was set to 58 psi. This may have changed over the years.
