I am converting to port fuel from TBI.

Could someone post the calculation needed please.

I found this on a search but it does not look correct:

displacement of one cyl divided by injector flow rate in grams per sec.

ps 24 lbs per hour= 3.024 grams/sec 5.7L = .7125L

so .2356 ?

 

Ronny, don't you have a copy of the EBL Utility? If not I should put it on my web site with a link to grab it.

For an EBL Flash with the Port Mod the BPC for a 350 and 24#/hr injectors is 174 (all entries of the table).

With no Port Mod the injectors fire twice as often, so halve that BPC value. Note that if the injectors are 14 ohms or less they won't fire on a stock TBI ECM. They peak off before they open.

My EBL is early issue i believe. I dont believe I have utility but will look. I never needed it as I was using one supplied to me prior to my EBL purchase.

I am surprised to see the "174"? I think I understand however?. The TBI was a common plenum to bank to bank. So whether starboard or port side, the firing cylinder will see fuel from alternating injectors and fuel is carried over to next ignition event it being wet vs dry. One crank revolution two injector firings one being starboard and one port side with TBI. With port mod one crank revolution the same two firings one each bank but the firing cylinder is segregated to that bank of injectors. Is that the point?

My current BPC is 87 exactly half of what you calculated.

I will send the ECU back to you soon for port mod.

The Bosch 3's are rated at 39.15 lbs fuel pressure so I will set reg to that.

I will start another thread as to what I will need to address in my EBL.bin it being port fuel.

The early release has the spread sheets to calc the BPC values. Separate ones for port and TBI. When you send the EBL Flash ECM in for the Port Mod, the ECM firmware will also be updated. A new CD will be included with the latest files on it that you will need to use.

Be sure that you have copies of the BINs that you are using.

As for the injectors, I may have the compensation data for them. Need to know the numbers on the injectors plus the color of the injectors.

Wont be long. Unfortunately all three of my cars need to have minor service this week. I received the compensation data from FIC in an email. Bosch 3's 24 lbs. Great service there.
