Lower and Upper VE table Histograms.

When using TP RT ver 5, took a datalog, then play it back for review. Using $8D on '90 C4, I have 2 histogram tables set up, one for lower data and one for upper. I am wondering about the row of data for 1600 rpm. Data does not match between both histograms. I know in the actual VE tables that row should be the same in both tables. The lower table has 4 more columns than the upper, but that shouldnt matter.

And also, i do have an extra row in my histogram tables, 1700 for the lower, and 1200 for the upper. Something about the last row of data is invalid, so an extra row is added, and those rows are to be ignored.

This 1600 rpm row is a critical row of data, since the engine sees that rpm quite a bit. So I want to able to tune that row correctly.

I would average the 1600 RPM histogram data between the lower & upper. Then use it and plug the same data into both tables at 1600 RPM.

This is correct.
When you are logging and the "reading" is out of the table range, The value will report in the highest/lowest cell of the histogram.
Adding the extra rows ensures that the reading you see is truly from that RPM level and not just being at the end of the table.
Without the extra row, the 1600 RPM data would be useless for both tables.

The 1600 RPM rows tend to get different BLM when going up and coming down so I usually avg out the two readings and enter the middle value into both tables.

Interesting solution, never thought of that! But easy to do. I have the BLM to VE calculator spreadsheet, so just need to do some math and get the averages.
In fact, might work out better, since the row of 1600 doesnt always have BLM history data in both tables, so by averaging, i will get the best of both worlds!

Re: Lower and Upper VE table Histograms.

I have some example files for you to look at. Maybe we can finish the tools.
Much of my stuff is done to the point "I" can use it but not as easy for someone else. Little clean up is all that is needed.

Ok, that's interesting because in the LT-5 bin, we have upper and lower tables but also Closed and Open Port Throttles. This helps in reconciling the inconsistency between lower/upper.
