If you are still running the stock '6870 ECM there is some info out there on it. The MaskID is $1F, so get the ECU/XDF and ADL/ADX files for that mask.

It is a 4K BIN using the 2732 EPROM, which is not worth using. Most folks get a G2 adapter and the 27SF512 PROMs, then the Burn1 to burn the PROMs. Could also go with an Ostrich and the booster board if you want to emulate.

While at moates.net look at getting an ALDL cable to data log.

Yours is a different situation then the OP's. His stock ECM runs a TPI set up as that was what the car was equipped with from the factory.

In your case the stock ECM (1228746, 5.0L TBI), won't run a TPI set up. If you want to use a '90 - '92 TPI ECM will need to re-pin the ECM harness connectors for it. There is a sticky on this on the TPI board here.

Note that the '90 - '92 ECM ('7730) is different then the '85 TPI ECM.

Upgrading to the 86-89 1227165 and using the $6e mask would be a huge upgrade.
You could get a moates.net g1, a few sst27sf512's and a burn2. Or if you decide you want to emulate time and money hands down look into the dynamic efi Ebl p4.

Re: newbie at proms.... burning ect.

just need to figure out what sensor is supposed to run with this motor 87 5.7 tpi.
body came with map sensor on firewall. and motor didn't come with maf sensor. plus I have no charcoal canister or vacuum lines ran. I don't need emissions here so I just need to plug in what is necessary to get this thing moving.

Re: newbie at proms.... burning ect.

The EBL system are all speed density, so they require the MAP sensor. No MAF required.

For vacuum lines, need one to the MAP and one to the FPR.

I think it would be the same as repinning speed density TBI to Speed Density TPI. It's in the TPI forum as a sticky I believe.
