ARAP Bin and timing.
I've read a lot that the ARAP Bin has a very aggressive timing curve, and that while great for an F-Body, it needs to be dialed back some. In terms of ECM tuning, what exactly do you mean? Is this some arbitrary thing? Do you just say, knock 2 degrees off every interval and see what happens?

Re: ARAP Bin and timing.
Basically you'll see alot of cruise and lighter load areas of the arap bin to have spark upwards of 40-45 deg. Off idle can be high 30's. Some of these areas may be too much for some cylinder heads to handle. Iron fbody heads dont need that much timing
So you basically trim back the values a few deg. Wot you need to look at the last two columns lv8 values and make sure total advance doesnt go over 36. My L98 liked 34-35 deg and no more. Y body 113 heads like 36-38

Re: ARAP Bin and timing.
Yeah typically a sbc head will like something like the 5.0 file you posted, for idle to cruise and normal sub 3000 rpm driving areas. Wot stuff you want to be try between 32-38 depending on the head, alot of motors seem happy at 33-36 deg.
Numbers at the top is the load variable. Higher lv8 number higher the load. Wot will see 190-208+ at peak rpms. Idle will be between 50-80 depending on cam type cubes and idle rpm. Cruise and normal driving is anywhere in between 100-160 lv8
