8746 ECM not taking chips
Bought an 89 RS in the process of a 305 to 350 TBI swap. I bought the burner2, G2 adaptor, and some 28pin 512 chips. Installed the adaptor, started burning chips with different bin files.
The issue is that I've probably tried 10 different bin files on the Internet and 1 of 2 things happen:
Key on, engine off: fast blinking SES light. When started, (still flashing) runs okay but very rich. Limp mode?
Key on, engine off: solid SES light. When started, (non SES light) surges from 400-1500, hesitation.
I saved my stock bin from the ANTT chip and burned it on a 28pin and I get the fast blinking light now.
I have re-soldered the adaptor twice and checked continuity both times to 100%. Followed moates G2 videos the second time to makes sure I didn't miss anything.
Did I miss a reset process or did I damage something on the ECM?
Please help?
Thanks

Offsets look good. I think. . . .
I've tried 10 different bin files including the copy from my ANTT chip.
Here is a snap shot if you want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Re: 8746 ECM not taking chips
Got a remanufactured one, hooked it up and got similiar engine results as with my old ECM but the SES light is responding different. I am still getting the flickering SES light with the same bin files as before (including the copy from my stock ANTT). The bin files that gave me a solid SES light before and after starting the engine now give me No SES light at all.
A side comment, i put the larger 5.7 injectors in now and the engine only stays on if I have a bin file that causes the flickering. Solid SES light with old ECM or no SES light with new ECM, engine turns over, revs up and down to stall. Injectors are cone but I see way more gas than with the the 5.0 injectors. If I have bin file that has the SES flickering, the engine is flooding with gas, if I move the throttle, it looks like a cone spray from a garden hose.

Re: 8746 ECM not taking chips
After having no luck with the new ECM, scrapped the 10 bin files I had and found someone on another forum that had almost all of the stock bins and tried the ANTT and the ANLU. Both of these got the SES light working how it should and a better attempt at keeping the engine running. It surges like 5-8 times before stalling. Before it would only surge once, maybe twice. It feels like the engine runs through 8 cylinders 3-4 times, skips a cycle and then it catches itself. Looks like I just had some bad bin files for the wrong ECM even though some had the 8746 even in the file name. I think I am off to a tuning thread to figure out this idle issue.

Did you put the chip in the correct way? It sounds really dumb but I've but the 27SF512 chips in facing the wrong direction and they car runs like poop. I scratch my head and turn the chip around and it works. The little dot on the chip needs to be going positioned a certain way horizontally.
Also those EPROMS do die. I remember I was at a car meet with a buddy and he wanted to copy my chip. I pulled my chip out and he read it in his Burn1 and I put it back in the car. Static must have killed it because it ran like poop afterwards. I came home and burned another chip and it worked fine. Do you have more chips you can flash and try? It sounds like you are in limp mode.
I'm not familiar with the G2, does it come with a ZIF socket?
