Hi. You're new here, welcome to the DIY Prom Board.

First, we are not a referral service and we don't barter in proms in anyway. We are here to teach you how to burn your own and we will be pleased to help you learn how to burn your own so you'll exceed anything you could ever buy.

Second, you just set yourself up for e-mails from people that troll this board looking for people like you and will offer you a "better deal". Be prepared to get burned.

Third, think of your purchase of eprom burning equipment not as a "cost" but an investment. You can use it over and over and over again. You only have to buy it once. If you decide to change your engine in the future, you will not have to buy another eprom. You will most likely have to reburn a new one, but if you are already into eprom burning (at that time) it will cost you nothing (other than the electricity to power you eprom burning equipment and the notebook computer).

Fourth, you will learn more about the way the ECM REALLY works (if you follow this board and "dig" into the hacs) and not "assume" things that are not true. I don't know how many times I have seen posts on the "Tech/General Board" where somebody modifies their engine and someone says "no worries, just crank up the fuel pressure and the computer will re-learn for you" as if the ECM is some form of Articfical Intelligence.

Fifth, the cost to get into eprom burning if you read the Prom Introduction (The first post by the Administrator - Dirk or better known as *** of www.thirdgen.org) you will see that you can actually get all of the equipment and software far less than $350. You can also spend WAY MORE than $350 on the equipment and software. All depends on how much of a DIYer you want to be vs. how much of a "too lazy to learn and pay the bucks" kinda person. The choice is yours.

Sixth, normally these type of posts are either locked (good night) or deleted (bad night). This is your lucky day and I'm still celebrating New Years. So you post is going to remain alive. But I usually wake up cranky in the morning, so you're post will most likely will be gone then.

Until then, fill your boots.

To the person that sent me the nasty e-mail. You are right it does look like I called Dirk a *** when I called him an ***.

Dirk any chance of rethinking some of the swear filters? I still can't say pet****.
