TunerPro RT--- use ADS or ADX for initial configuration?
I have TunerPro RT on my PC.
I have not loaded any BIN, XDF, or ADS files.
I keep noticing some mention of ADS vs ADX, and I must admit I really don't understand enough about TunerPro to know whether one is mutually exclusive versus the other.
My car is a 1988 Camaro with V6 engine.
I downloaded XDF and ADS files described as correct for "86-89 F Body V6 (LB6/LB8)
(ADS by Robert Saar)" from http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadBinDefs.htm#GM
Can someone please answer two questions for me?
1. Is it OK for me to load the ADS file mentioned above?
2. When would a TunerPro RT user need to use an ADX file instead of an ADS file?
Here is a screenshot of where I think I am supposed to load the ADS file.
(I did look at the "HELP" section in the TunerPro program and it talks about ADX files - mostly in language that I don't understand that well.)

Ads is the old format. You can convert the ads to adx .

Cool!
I think I understand now.
Once again, many thanks for your guidance.
The chip-adapter gizmos all arrived from Moates.
Soldering practice-kit from Amazon here too.
Realized yesterday I need a "solder sucker" to suck the molten solder out of the pin holes when I plunge into the land of no return on my circuit board. The solder sucker is shipped, but not yet arrived.
In the meantime, I figured I'd at least load the BIN and XDF and ADS (soon to be ADX) into TunerPro, and see what trouble I can get into just clicking around in TunerPro before the PC is actually plugged into anything.

I can’t remember but maybe someone else will chime in. I think on the 302 ecm you need to put it in the 10k mode to start data flow.

I see the switch.
Will give that a try after the soldering project.
