Moates Burn1 blewup?
Moates Burn1 blewup?
I have had a Burn 1 for some years now and it has always worked well. Recently it will always give me the "FAILURE: Verification Failed (not matched)" after programming a tune onto a chip. Have reinstalled drivers and tried two computers still the same effect. Chip offsets are good, I have 10 chips.......
I think something must be wrong with the burner itself. Has anyone tried to contact Moates these days? I have been calling for days now and they will not answer or return phone calls..... What is going on?

Try sending them a email. They have been quick to respond in the past.

Are you erasing the EEPROM first? You'll get a failed verification if you're not programming a blank EEPROM.
Re: Moates Burn1 blewup?
Got a BURN2 in the mail today. Everything is good again. Looks like the BURN1 did in fact blow up. I tried to reflow the solder on the VPP pin of the burner as per their recommendation and that didn't fix it so I sent it back and ordered a BURN2 via the Express RMA procedure.
