Re: 1995 gmc truck tuning

I have chased this rabbit for some time. Best option is to find someone who can do a custom tune (moates autoprom) after driving around and data logging. I have a 1994 I use for toy hauling, our 4l60e's differ in a way, TCC Lock up. I ordered a Sonnax Cure kit , this is the link for the 95+ kit --> (https://www.sonnax.com/parts/3029-the-sure-cure-kit) because our early 4l60e's were prone to Valve body wear and Accumulator Failure. The Sonnax kit comes with upgraded steel plates to prevent wear in the ball check guides. $250.00 for the complete kit and new accumulators (1-2 harsh 3-4 soft // Complete loss of OD was common symptoms of Valve Body Failure). Your 1995 PCM is the preferred unit for Tuning IIRC also. I also recommend Bypassing your factory Oil Cooler, being integrated into your Radiator, the factory mech. fan did a poor job of Pulling air through shroud IMO. I switched to an auxiliary cooler and dual ls1 fans, keeps the truck nice and cool after those long trips up-hill.

Leave the OEM in-radiator cooler, it does more than you would believe, then plumb an additional cooler in line between the radiator cooler outlet and the transmissions cooler return port. My 4L85E in my Express van has both coolers and an in-radiator engine oil cooler. I have not had an overheating issue from my ~400 hp 350 or my 4L85E even pulling my 6,000 lbs travel trailer in 105*F weather although I did have to add a p/s cooler because the fluid was getting so hot it melting the convolted plastic covering off the lines that go to the hydroboost.
