Newbie..Which AT29C256 Flash PROM?

Newbie..Which AT29C256 Flash PROM?
Well i have question about Flash Prom AT29C256. They are different types. Digikey says under package/case.......... 28-DIP, 28-DSOP, 28-PLCC. which one should i order? Which One Does Everyone use here? From what i understand if you get the AT29C256, remove the old EPROM, you can solder the new flash PROM in place of the old EPROM and you can burn it while it's in the memcal with that adapter everyone uses. there's no need for the ZIF socket? right? help me out here guys.....
