unknown injectors, running rich, where to start

Long story short, car was sitting for 15 yrs, entire fuel system was gummed up. I bought the cheapest injectors off RockAuto just to make sure the car would run. My intent was to buy some more decent ones later on... Ended up spending a lot of my budget on interior and AC etc. etc. so it'll be a few months before I can get new injectors.

BLMs are bottomed out at 108 pretty much all the time and car is still rich. I can't find ANY info on the injectors, except a few sites which claim they're 24lb. My question is... Should I start with changing injector sizes until I start seeing the BLMs come up, and fine tune from there? Or should I go straight to the injector voltage offset tables?

I'm running ARAP bin currently. MAF is new reman bosch unit that looks to be reporting correctly. Mostly stock except headers. These are the injectors... part # is FJ680 but most of the images on the internet don't match, except this https://www.racetronix.biz/p/24-lb-h...jector/d1810xx

You can go either way; provide the correct fuel injectors that the ecm is expecting, or tune the ecm to accommodate your injectors. I would expect larger than stock injectors to be rich all the time on a stock tune.

I'd say start with a set of known injectors. Plenty of cheap rebuilt injectors out there that latency and minimum pulse width, etc is known.

not at all opposed to that, and that will most likely be my long-term goal. Just trying to get her idling better in the meantime.

Idle quality is very much related to having the injectors proper latency, minimum pulse width, minimum opening times, and accurate flow rate entered into the ecu. If you have unknown injectors I fear you'll be chasing your tail trying to get any sort of decent idle. Good luck.

Can try fudging it. If you think they are 24 lb set it to 24 and just start tuning. Some spray patterns will still need tuning despite setting injector constant to 24. Voltage offsets are one thing, but likely you’ll need to adjust maf tables
