Does scanner being connected slow chip "learn-in" time?
Does scanner being connected slow chip "learn-in" time?
Hello guys
I've noticed that each time I drive with the scanner connected to
the ALDL that it seems the ecm has to learn the chip parameters
all over again, even if I have driven 50-100 miles on the chip the
day before. Any thoughts? This is a "7747" ecm.... OTC 4000E
scan tool.
Any wisdom on the subject will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In some modes when you *plug* in you force the ecm into some modes where there is no learning, and in others default numbers are used.
Thanks for the help!
So, would it be best to let the eprom be learned without the
scanner plugged in and THEN check BLMs with the scanner?
BTW, I have sometimes left the scanner on during prom changes.
A big no no?
Thanks to what I have learned here, I've been able to convince
others that TBI is a viable option for performance engines WITH
the right eprom, and the only way to get the right one is to BURN IT YOURSELF.
THANK YOU GRUMPY!!! GET WELL SOON!!!!!
