Moates G1

I got a Moates G1 adapter, chip, and header readout header. I was able to dump my memcal just fine using the adapter, but noticed that on the G1 it has to be shifted down one to work. What is going on here? I flashed a modified bin to the 27SF512 JWT chip, installed it into the car and when I key it up the fan runs and check engine light stays lit. It started but ran very poor, popped the stock memcal in and it was fine.

Re: Moates G1

When you’re burning the prom did you use an offset of 8000? If you don’t that’s exactly what will happen.

Re: Moates G1

I did not. It didn't say anything about offsets on their website for the chip I got, but did say to flash the top of the chip on the SST version they have. I'll give that a shot tomorrow after work. I still don't understand why it's shifted down relative to the stock memcal though.

*Edit* figured out the pin issue... Thanks Google and 15 year old thread...

Re: Moates G1

I flashed the bin to 0x4000 because the A15 line is cut on this chip so it's effectively a 256kbit, popped it in and it started with no check engine light. Fan came on at 190f like I set, so looks like it's happy with it. I did change the ALDL spark adder to 0 degrees but it still idles up when I put the 10k resistor on for winALDL so idk. Otherwise I'm pretty well excited about it all.
