I'm just curious... How did load become LV8?

Someone name it that? some mathematical reason? Is it a variable?

LV8 is a "calculated/simulated" load for MAF cars. It is calculated based on the air flow and TPS setting basically. How exactly it is calculated is probably not as important as knowing that LV8 is MAF's version of "load".
