Where do I go to find a prom for a LG4 to ZZ4 swap?
Where do I go to find a prom for a LG4 to ZZ4 swap?
Just wanted to ask if I need to program one myself or if there's a place that I can go to buy a prom for a LG4 to ZZ4 swap.
I have a 1980 LG4 with the "C4" emissions setup. Is the ECM in this the same, other than the prom, as a L69 or later year LG4? Also...are the proms written with the tranny in mind? My car has a TH350 with a comp controlled lock-up TQ converter.
Thanks,
Matt

Go to your local GM dealer and order the ZZZ retrofit installation instructions, and it has all the trick part numbers for the prom ecm etc.
Then get Doug Roes Q-Jet Book to learn what you cna do to a Q-Jet to let it fly......
I think I might be stuck with buying an entirely new comp setup. Mine has a 1980 LG4 with a TH350 in a Vette. It says it's a "C4" emission system. Looks like the ones in the later Camaro's, with the 700R4, are too different from mine for the chips to work. Guess I'll just have to wait till emissions is gone to do an engine swap.
