Calculated horsepower with Craig's software?

Does anybody know if the Calculated Horsepower in Craig's program gives accurate reading?

Thanks.

- BTW, i really like this program I can not wait to try the newest version. Hopefully tomorrow.

Nope, not accurate. Just based on car's weight and rate of change in vehicle speed. From Physics 101 it should be accurate, but not in reality. In the net-averaged sense it should be pretty close, but instantaneous readings should be suspect at best.

Another example of garbage-in, garbage-out. The data coming in for the calculation is somewhat noisy & varies a lot. That wreaks havoc on differential analysis. But the 1/4 mile time stuff ought to be a little closer in the absence of wheelspin.

Look to the HP # as a relative indicator. If someone finds it to be more accurate than what I have rendered here, please let me know. Right now, I'd qualify it as 'in-the-ballpark' most of the time.

No way...I wish, though. Sometimes I see #'s in the 575-600hp range. Quite optimistic.
