Your farther ahead to add the MAT, and go with a 86-87 ecm.
Caspers Electronics makes a kit I think to do this.
They are in IL.
At the GNTtype site they have a hac of the later ecm, and there is a .ecu for it floating around
Ultimately you might investigate a Translator Plus.
Sub'ing to WWW. Turbobuick.com is also a good idea.

Yeah, I definately plan to convert to the 86/87 ECM, but I find the cost of the newer MAF sensor prohibitive. I can't seem to find anyone that is willing to tell me how I can convert an 86/87 chip to work fine the the older maf. I have a few ideas, but I really don't want to mess it up.
If it's allright, I think I might keep posting here. I used to visit this site all the time when I was into thirdgens. I really like the spirit of this DIY board. In my opinion, the TB.com board seems more towards the commercialized aspect of computer chips.
