Some, Final Answer, notes

When trying to set up a calibration to be real responsive, two things to rmember:
Set delays to the min.
Set filters, high.

There is no harm that I've found by lowering enable temps., ie TCC, DFCO, C/L, EGR enable, CCP enable, etc.. If you don't want to use something like EGR, then set the enable temp really high. But go thru the hac or whatever documents you have, and make sure you have all the enable temps set at a resonable temp..

Work in one area of the EPROM at a time. Doing IAC, then do that, don't try and get AE dialed in as you move the throttle follower settings.

If you're not running much gear, delta TPS AE can be really helpful to get things crisp coming off of idle. If your MAP AE is zero'd out don't be afraid to try and use it. Especially if you having to add alot of TPS AE. It's a PITA dialing in the AE, TPS, and AE MAP/MAF but work back and forth *slowly* and you'll get what it is you have to do. And once you think you're clear on it, don't be afraid to rethink what it is you think you know.

The bigger the cam the more the engine self EGR's at idle, so you'll need a fair amount of fuel, AND timing. Don't be surprised if you run 30d timing at idle, but getting the engine to decclerate back down means getting the DFCO stuff really right.

It's all a blend, AE, PE, DFCO, idle, cruise, they all work together, and the transistions from one to the other are what seperates the men from the boys.

I guess its best to say "were not worthy":hail:

Sure hope you not seriously complaining there.

To really grasp the abbreviations, it's as much using them as defining them, so any discription is going to be some what lacking. Getting familiar with the terms means reading and rereading hacs, and then with the hac in one hand try some changes and see what you have.

In short

AE= Accleration Enrichment (acclerator pump in a carb).
DE= Deccleration Enleanment
DFCO= Deccleration Fuel Cut Off
PE= Power Enrichment

Some thing as simple as AE acutually means
delta TPS to allow AE enrichment
delta MAP or MAF
AE vs Coolant temp.
enrichment due to delta TPS
Sometimes there are other coolant temp corrections, enables.

PE also has a bunch of sub categories
Coolant Temp enable
% TPS, enable
% enrichment
WOT AFR
% enrichment by RPM
% enrichment by TPS

(delta=difference)

no not complaining, just wondering and being sarcastic, but thanks for the info, just doing some research on starting to do some prom burning of my own and reading the posts and trax's article on how to do it.

for those that dont know, Grumpy has written a number of posts that have "final answer" in the title. There is a lot of good followup information in them, that kind of takes Traxions article to the next level. Check them out.
