EEPROM's?

I remember a rather large post about eeproms and where to obtain them from and about how to get them to function in our cars properly as well as to burn them properly .... I searched for this post/topic but came up empty handed. Can someone guide me to this post/topic and if not run thru making eeproms function correctly for burning proms and how to load them so as to read correctly when installed in car :-)
thanks

AT29C256 is the one you want. Works fine with the PocketProgrammer.

Do a search for 'flash' or 'atmel' and you should get something in hand.

Is there an update scheduled for the FAQ/Intro article? Seems there's quite a bit being asked lately along the lines of needed updates.

If this is a 3.8 that your talking about, NO you can't use a EEPROM, without alot of work, your ecm is a 1227148 and iit uses a 2732.

Whoops
In his sig it says 3.8 that's a 1227148 and uses a 2732, mind telling me how YOU plug a 28 pin devise in a 24 pin socket?.
LOL

...Which brings a good question, is there a Flash chip that'll work with the 2732 systems? That'd be nice...

I'm using a 28HC256 EEPROM in my 148 ECM. All it took was a zif socket in the ECM, an adapter board to mate 28 pins to 24 pins, and then I made my own programmer. Works great! Sure beats dinkin' around with EPROMS and UV erasers. If you want a pix of the chip on the adapter board, just email me. It's about 230K in size. I also made my own eprom emulator. Sure is nice to be able to change stuff on the fly!
