Beginning tuning curves

here is my exact combo i will be running:
ported vortec heads
ported vortec tpi intake
ported slp runners (2 inch siamese at top)
lt4hotcam (218/228, 525/525)
1.6 rr
SLP 1 3/4 headers and catback
22# inj (know they will be pushing it but larger can come later with $$$$)

now toward the tuning side of things when starting from bare bones type setup .....

Where do u start first?

from what i can gather the beginning tweaks seem to center around playing with the injector constant to see how much closer u can get your blm count towards 128 or at least see a few cells close to 128.....correct or am i sniffing up the wrong tree here?

second question centers around fuel pressure

Was considering the fact that my injectors are getting towards the insufficent side for my combo and cutting it close as far as supported hp goes..........should i just start all my tuning efforts using 48 psi as the new base fp or should i start out at the stock 43.5 range, rough it out and later increase the fp?

Glenn, Trax, Grumpy I would greatly appreciate if u guys would take the time to expound upon these issues especiialy from the beginning of the tuning process.....

I searched the board and can only find snippets and/or what amount to odds and ends so any enlightenment that u care to share please do so

thanks

PS yes this is all for my 91 350 FOrmula for now :-)
TTA's time will come after the rebuild :-)

Grab a copy of the Tuning.Doc from DIY-EFI Incoming
Read and memorize all the Final Answer threads here.
From WWW.Tunercat.com follow all the links.

Might try getting a couple sets of stock GN/TTA injectors, they can be bought cheap, and getting two sets, gets you spares. 8x30=240, or about 420 real HP.

Or a least with the 30 you can see exactly where you are for idle pulse width, and how much larger you MIGHT want to go

I think he meant the tuning tips document. I'd read it over like 10 times if I were you. Every time I read it, I notice something new.
